Summer Planning for Parents

The last time we dealt with kids and activities for the summer. Reading is essential for children, and summer is the prime time to build those skills.

I found some pages at About.com for parents who want to work closely with children to teach them other valuable skills or just to spend quality time with them. Not everything will obviously be your cup of tea, but you may find some new ideas here. Some things may create ways for you to implement other ideas as well.

These pages focus on the use of the computer with children.

The plan calls for eight weeks. Tailor it according to your needs.

As usual, I wish everyone a happy summer!

Summer Activities

Sometimes, a good activity can also help you to practice valuable skills
or pass them along to your younger brothers and sisters. Parents, of course, should assist, if time permits. :)

Reading is a fun thing for everyone to participate in as a collective group.
You can delegate different people to help with each area.

I ask the cats sometimes to listen to something I play on the piano
or if I read something that concerns them. They always listen and say meow. They give great feedback.

Now, if there are people involved, you get amazing feedback and cooperation!!!!!!

Here's a site with wonderful and fun activities to try out this summer.

Reading is not only engaging. It heightens your awareness to new and exciting things.
I hope this summer is spectacular for all of you at home.

Happy Summer!
